A graduate of Calvin University with a degree in political science, Jeannine began her career with the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, where she established and managed a number of economic development and membership programs. She left the chamber as Senior Vice President in 1990 to become the Marketing Director of one of West Michigan’s largest law firms, Varnum. In 1997, Jeannine joined the Grand Rapids Christian Schools as Director of Communication.
Jeannine serves as president of the Cross Creek North Condominium Association, and as vice president of Pickerel-Kimball Lakes Association. She is also a trustee of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Jeannine is past chair of the Spectrum Health Acute Care Patient Family Advisory Council, past president of the Grand Rapids Community Media Center Board of Directors, past chair the Memorial Trust Committee and former Clerk of Session at Westminster Presbyterian Church, and is a member of the Sophie de Marsac Campau Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In 2019, Jeannine received the Spectrum Health ACE (Achieving Continuous Excellence) Award in recognition of her volunteer service to the health care system.
She volunteers for Corewell Health (formerly Spectrum Health), is an on-air programmer for WYCE 88.1 FM, and also serves as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for CASA Kent County.
Jeannine and her husband, Ron, live in Grand Rapids and own a cottage on Pickerel Lake in Newaygo County.
